The Spotify App is Finally Coming to the Xbox One

It’s no surprise that the Spotify App is coming to the Xbox One as Sony’s PlayStation 4 has had the Spotify App a few years. I enjoy using the Spotify App on my PlayStation 4 due to the fact that you can stream music while playing your game at the same time. Plus, it is quite convenient to have all of your Spotify Playlists synced from your account ready to play on the PS4.

Now, Microsoft has finally revealed that the Spotify App is coming to the Xbox One.  Spotify is planning to launch the Xbox One App pretty soon though no official timeframe has been given as Microsoft only revealed its existence today and nothing more.  According to”Major Nelson” on “This Week on Xbox” which you can see below, he shows a video with the Spotify App running on an Xbox One as a background application showcasing that you can indeed play music while playing games at the same time.

Further, according to the Verge, Microsoft is testing the Spotify App internally and will “be available soon”.

How to Install Spotify on PlayStation 4

  1. Turn on PlayStation 4 and go to PlayStation Music
  2. Download and Install Spotify App
  3. Log In to Spotify or Create an Account
  4. You’re Done!

We can expect similar installation instructions for the Xbox One though related to Xbox’s offerings.
