The original Star Wars Battlefront games captivated its fans with the inclusion of space battles on top of a solid campaign and multiplayer component. When the reboot of the Star Wars Battlefront series came to light 2 years ago from EA and DICE, many were disappointed to hear that the new 2015 Star Wars Battlefront game would not only not include a multiplayer component, but also not have any space battles until it was introduced a year or so later. This angered many fans as the new Star Wars Battlefront game wouldn’t live up to its predecessors and paying full price for a half complete game was nonsense.
But now EA is looking to change that with the full introduction to space battles in Star Wars Battlefront 2 Space Battles. EA has announced that it will finally show multiplayer space combat in Star Wars Battlefront 2 at this years Gamescom in Germany.

This was mentioned on EA’s official blog post, where “teams will face off in a swirling dogfight in the Fondor: Imperial Shipyard map, weaving around an Imperial Star Destroyer complete with speedy fighters, thundering bombers, distinct hero ships, and more. Will the brave pilots of the Rebel Alliance triumph against the Imperial Navy, or will the intrepid aces of the Galactic Empire foil the insurgents’ plans? ” states the website. There will also be a new trailer and live gameplay reveal of the new Starfighter Assault Mode.
You can tune in to view this online on August 21 at 9:30 PT at EA.com to fully view it. The live stream “will be your first glimpse at the vastly improved starfighter combat, with superior controls, deeper customization, and role-based team play featuring an all new class-based system.”
