THE NEW MICROSOFT SURFACE PRO 2017: PERFORMANCE
Like other Surface Pro products, the performance on this laptop is a beast. The i5 New Microsoft Surface Pro 2017 features a powerful Intel i5 processor, an Intel HD Graphics 620 integrated graphics, 4GB of RAM and a 128 GB SSD. Taken together, the Surface Pro 2017 performs like a beast. While it does have some trouble playing games or running CPU/GPU intensive apps like 3D modelling or doing intensive editing, the configuration we chose does get the job done day-to-day with writing, taking notes, drawing and more.
It also should be noted that all new Microsoft Surface Pro 2017 models come with a 7th-generation Intel Kaby Lake Core processors – m3, i5, or i7 – which feature higher clock speeds over the Intel Skylake processors found in its predecessor. The new Kaby Lake chips also feature improved Speed Shift technology, allowing the processor to transition between CPU states quicker. For the first time, both the Core m3 and the Core i5 models are fanless.
