From the first Surface back in 2012 to the 2017 new Microsoft Surface Pro device today, the design has seen many improvements. And the New Microsoft Surface Pro 2017 is similar to its predecessor with some minor changes.  First of all, the new Microsoft Surface Pro 2017 is both a laptop and a tablet with a keyboard which you can purchase separately. This new device is extremely beautiful and you can see that a lot of care was put into this device. In terms of weight and dimensions for the i5 model, it is 770 grams and 292 mm (11.5 in) in width, 201 mm (7.9 in) in height, and 8.5 mm (0.33 in) in depth. The new Surface Pro 2017 has a superbly crafted aluminium chassis with an enhanced kickstand which now opens 165 degrees allowing the device to lay flatter- a mode that Microsoft calls “Studio Mode”.

In terms of ports, there is also a full -size USB 3.0 port, microSD reader, headphone jack, Mini Displayport, Cover Port, and the SurfaceConnect port to connect a wall charger, Docking Station or Surface Dock accessories.

As usual with the Microsoft Surface Pro lineup, the display of the New Microsoft Surface Pro 2017 is simply gorgeous. The display in the 2017 Microsoft Surface Pro 2017 is the best ever in a Surface Pro product. It has a 12.3 in “PixelSense” Display with a resolution of 2736×1824 and 257 PPI. Further, it is a multitouch display with an aspect ratio of 3:2 and can receive pen input. The device produces stunning colour and has striking contrast with text that reads like a printed page. The addition of the Surface Pen further enhances the display to take notes with 4096  levels of pressure sensitivity and an eraser on the other end.  Just flip it around and erase, your Surface Pen strokes like you would with a regular pencil.

Like other  Surface Pro products, the performance on this laptop is a beast. The i5 New Microsoft Surface Pro 2017 features a powerful Intel i5 processor, an Intel HD Graphics 620 integrated graphics, 4GB of RAM and a 128 GB SSD. Taken together, the Surface Pro 2017 performs like a beast. While it does have some trouble playing games or running CPU/GPU intensive apps like 3D modelling or doing intensive editing, the configuration we chose does get the job done day-to-day with writing, taking notes, drawing and more.

It also should be noted that all new Microsoft Surface Pro 2017 models come with a  7th-generation Intel Kaby Lake Core processors – m3, i5, or i7 – which feature higher clock speeds over the Intel Skylake processors found in its predecessor. The new Kaby Lake chips also feature improved Speed Shift technology, allowing the processor to transition between CPU states quicker. For the first time, both the Core m3 and the Core i5 models are fanless.
